For the first timers, it is always wise to practice pitching at home and follow the guide comes with the tent.

At the campsite, find a flat and most durable surface.

Generally, is the best to pitch a tent in areas that are so highly impacted that pitching of another tent will not have further impact on vegetation.

One must always check the ground for any insect nest, such ants, wasps, or termites.

Brush aside rocks, woods, cones, or other removable objects but put the back when leaving the campsite.

Lay out the foot print or ground tarp to protect the tent floor.

Lay out the tent body on top of the ground tarp, but one needs to take into account where the door should be facing on a windy day.

Is should not be facing the wind. Pitching would require assistance, so have a buddy to help pitch the tent.
